From Quality Inspector to ISO Management System Leader
May Quality Consulting was built on more than two decades of hands-on manufacturing and quality experience.
Michael May began his quality career in 2003 as a Quality Control Inspector supporting Toyota manufacturing operations under the TS 16949 automotive quality standard. Working from the production floor upward provided a practical understanding of quality systems, process controls, inspection methods, nonconforming material management, and customer expectations.
In 2013, Michael transitioned into the electronics manufacturing industry and became deeply involved in Quality Management Systems operating under ISO 9001. Over the following years, he advanced into quality leadership positions responsible for managing, maintaining, auditing, and continuously improving certified Quality Management Systems.
Many consultants understand ISO clauses.
Few have spent decades implementing them inside real manufacturing environments, leading external audits, responding to customer audits, managing suppliers, supporting production teams, and maintaining certified systems year after year.
May Quality Consulting delivers practical solutions built from real-world experience.
Throughout his career, Michael has successfully:
- Led more than five full ISO recertification audits
- Supported dozens of successful external ISO surveillance audits
- Managed Quality Management Systems through multiple certification cycles
- Successfully guided an organization through the transition from ISO 9001:2008 to ISO 9001:2015
- Supported major customer audits, including audits conducted by Northrop Grumman and other demanding customers
- Developed and maintained KPI systems, management reviews, CAPA programs, internal audit systems, supplier quality programs, calibration systems, and production quality controls
- Supported quality systems covering design, manufacturing, service, repair, calibration, and customer support operations
